Naples for children: fun in the open area

The arks in Naples are an ideal place for children and kids, where it is possible to do many activities. In this sense,  it is sufficient to think about all the greener areas of the city, such as: the Comunal Park, Floridiana or the Virgiliano's Park which are free and appropriate for kids and adults.

Another suggestive location is surely the Mostra d'Oltremare's park, that, besides reserving the same kind of activities, it is also a natural place where children can get in touch with animals and nature. The Zoo in fact, represents the symbol of nature in Naples and it hosts several animals species and plants. It is situated inside the natural area of the Mostra and the timetable changes according to the summertime (from 9.30 a.m. to 7 p. m. in weekends and holidays; and from 9.30 a.m. to 6 p. m.) and wintertime (from 9.30 a.m. to 5 p. m.- tickets for children under 3 are free).

Between the best free parks cited above, we recommend you the Mascagna's park, in Vomero, where children are free to play with seesaws, carousels and basketball, or simply run among trees and flower beds.

With summertime, aquatic parks and pools in Naples are always open, especially if your children are willing to spend the day into a funny place just made on purpose for them.

Cultural fun in a Naples for children

Can it be fun culture for children? Also the cultural places of Naples host a lot of activities conceived for young children, in order to make them realize how important culture is in the funniest way.

The Astronomic Observatory in Capodimonte use to plan some activities for children between 7 and 10 years old, known as “Astrokid days of divulgation”, in which every day there is a different theme, in order to bring curiosity to them. At the end of the meeting there is the observation of the sun by telescopes.

The Young’s Theatre (an initiative organized by the Mostra D’Oltremare), instead, is planned to give kids an approach to art, music, cinema through their creativity and consists of about 40 shows in addition to which there are also laboratories, special projects and a special theatrical exposition organized by children themselves.

The Aquarium (or the Zoologic Station “Anton Dohrn”) is a wonderful place where children can get in touch with different species of sea animals: from turtles to sharks; from molluscs to starfish , in a location full of history. Prices for children aged up to 6 or disabled are free, from Tuesday to Sunday from 9.30 a.m. to 5 p. m.
